A multi-movement work based on a selection of love poetry from a book written by the composer himself in early 2019.

The cycle has six movements:

1. Opening - Your Name

2. Cherry Blossoms

3. One-Sided

4. Losing You

5. My Fate and 6. Closing

A note from the composer:

TALKING IN FLOWERS was scheduled to be premiered during my senior recital on 20 March 2020 at UNT’s Voertman Hall. Unfortunately, due to the COVID-19 outbreak during early 2020, my recital was canceled. Instead I have provided a series of recordings that offer the listener a glimpse of how TALKING IN FLOWERS would have played out had there been real musicians playing this piece. I would like to give a huge shoutout to Taryn Surratt for graciously recording the Soprano part.
